Folio 111: Charles Compton to Duke of Newcastle. Capture of a rich Spanish prize by H.M.S. Romney on the coast of the Algarve. Portuguese protests to be expected in London, and may be countered by precedent of Spanish privateer's capture of the St. Joseph at Faro in Oct. 1739 (S.P.89/40, ff.92-94), for which no satisfaction was ever obtained.
Date and place: 1743 Mar 16 Lisbon.
