Folio 109: Charles Compton to Duke of Newcastle. The two South Sea Factors at Lagos have now been released. They want Compton to demand the return of their books and papers on board the Spanish ship, but this he declines to do. Court claim that King John is `prettywell' despite a further seizure, but `it is generally believed that H.M.'s health is much worse than what they give out at the Palace'.
