Folio 63: Abraham Castres to Andrew Stone. Account of an interview with the Infante Dom Francisco over the detained Hanover packet-boat, shortly before the prince's death. Castres told him that the man guilty of the Portuguese woman's death (S.P.89/41) could not be brought to trial as he had fled to America and died there. Dom Francisco said he thought the incident would be closed and the Hanover released if an official certificate were submitted to that effect. Encloses letter from Van der Meer (f.61).
Date and place: 1742 July 31 `Casa do Pinheiro near Lisbon'.
