Folio 296: J. B. Parker to Duke of Newcastle. Latest intelligence from Galicia. Forwarding of dispatches for Sir John Norris. False alarm raised by the Governor of Oporto who believed that some passing English warships were going to attack the town. Argyle's boat's-crew still imprisoned. If Portuguese claim that Spanish privateers cannot be taken when in sight of the castle is allowed, `His Majesty's subjects will be great sufferers', so hopes it will be rejected.
Date and place: 1741 Sept 10 Oporto.
