Folio 241: Charles Compton to [Duke of Newcastle]. Lord Tyrawly sailed on July 8. Remittance of money for the payment of the garrison at Gibraltar. Carvalho's complaint in London of the condemnation of two Portuguese ships at London, `without Rime or Reason'. Suggests they might be released, for fear of Portuguese reprisals on British ships at Lisbon. The East-India Co.'s ship is being refitted here. Forwarding of letters from Consul Cayley at Faro.
