Folio 197: Duke of Newcastle to Lord Tyrawly. Encloses copy of Carvalho's representation relating to English breaches of Portuguese neutrality and of his own reply (both wanting). King George II is ready to meet the Portuguese regulations providing King of Spain does likewise. Tyrawly is to protest against Spanish privateers taking British vessels in Portuguese territorial waters and expects Portuguese government to obtain their restitution from Spain. Also sends copy of a previous memorial of Carvalho, complaining of Royal Navy infringements of Portuguese neutrality and of his reply (both wanting). Has just received Tyrawly's letter of 24 Oct. N.S., with Cayley's two letters (f.196).
