Folio 210: Sir John Norris to Duke of Newcastle. Encloses copy and translation (f.215) of Guedes's reply to his letter (f.198), which, in effect disowns Azevedo's complaint, but raises a new objection to which he has replied (f.217). Although Azevedo has now been instructed to drop the matter, yet Norris expostulates at great length that he has `been very basely and maliciously treated by these people', and he hints that Tyrawly has double-crossed him in this matter. He asks Newcastle to request the Queen to demand personal reparation and satisfaction for him.
