Folio 73: `Response au memoire presenté au Roi de Portugal par les Ministres de S.M., Mar. 6/17, 1736.' King John thinks it unnecessary to send renewed orders to his governors in Brazil to refrain from aggression against the Spaniards, as he has already done this several times, but out of complaisance to the unjustified reproaches of King George II, he will do so again. Requests clarification of wording of Spanish orders, and points out Spaniards are sending naval and military reinforcements to Buenos Aires.
Date and place: 1736 May 31/June 11 Lisbon.
