Folio 193: Lord Tyrawly to Duke of Newcastle. Emphasizing his previous reluctance (f.173) to intervene on behalf of London-based Portuguese Jews and their Lisbon representatives, Messrs. Buller & Bear. While he has previously often advocated pressing hard the Portuguese, this was always when the English had a clear-cut case and treaty rights, which is not the case with the present claimants who are all disreputable and dubious characters.
Date and place: 1732 June 27 Lisbon.
