Description

Folio 124: Charles Compton to Charles Delafaye. Delighted to know that his conduct `relating to the late squabbles we have had here' has been approved by King George II and Newcastle. The four seamen from H.M.S. Lively are still in prison but he hopes will be released soon.

Date and place: 1731 Sept 29 Lisbon.
