Folio 110: Lord Tyrawly to Duke of Newcastle. Incident during his stay at Caldas, in which one of his footmen killed a magistrate's servant in self-defence. Through the agency of a personal friend [Padre Carbone S.J.] who happened to be there, King John V was informed of the truth of the matter and formally absolved Tyrawly of all blame in a very friendly letter of Aug. 18 from the Secretary of State.
