Folio 10: Charles Compton to Duke of Newcastle. Concerning the new form of Admiralty passes for British shipping to protect them from Barbary Pirates and the implementation of them. Portuguese are trying to tax naturalized British subjects of Huguenot origins, which he thinks contrary to Anglo-Portuguese Treaty but requests clarification.
