Folio 309: [Lord Harrington] to Lord Tyrawly and Sir John Norris. In Newcastle's absence, he gives them a full briefing of developments in the negotiations over the joint mediation to date, the French rejection of H.M. Government's new proposals, and further negotiations with Portuguese ministers in London and Dom Luis da Cunha at Paris, which give some hope of Portuguese agreement to a truce in South America.
