Folio 301: Duke of Newcastle to Lord Tyrawly. Encloses a memorial (wanting) from the Directors of the E. India Co. regarding the wreck of their ship Vansittart at Mayo islands, the recovery of treasure therefrom by the diver, Mr Lethbridge, and refusal of the Portuguese authorities to allow him to continue. Tyrawly is to take this up with Mr Guedes, and secure a licence for him to operate there, as has been given Lethbridge for diving on the wreck of the Dutch East-Indiaman on the same island.
