Folio 276: Duke of Newcastle to Lord Tyrawly and Sir John Norris. Azevedo has intimated to the British government that King of Portugal will establish a packet-boat service of his own to England, since he has several times been denied the use of the Falmouth packet, even when there were three in Lisbon harbour. Queen commands that care should be taken to avoid giving cause for any such complaint in future, and King warned through Senhor Guedes [acting Secretary of State] that a Portuguese packet-boat service to England `might be attended with great difficulties.'.
Date and place: 1736 Aug 17 London.
