Folio 243: Duke of Newcastle to Sir John Norris. King entirely approves of his reaction to the news of the Rio de la Plata incident and his refusal to be drawn into it despite Portuguese pressure. King is also concerned to see that Norris and Tyrawly are now submitting separate instead of joint reports on their interviews with Mendonça Corte-Real. This must stop, and they must revert to the joint-report method and King approves of Norris' conduct in every way. With an incomplete P.S.
Date and place: 1736 Mar 15 London.
