Folio 182: Duke of Newcastle to Sir John Norris. Acknowledges his separate and private letters of Aug. 12, 14, 26, 27 N.S. Queen entirely approves of his action in detaching Capt. Falkingham to cruise off coast of Barbary. The return of the fleet cannot definitely be fixed until the joint mediation is more advanced. But meantime he can privately enquire from the Court of Portugal, as from himself only, whether the whole or a part of the fleet should not now return since Spain has accepted the joint mediation.
