Folio 47: Duke of Newcastle to Lord Tyrawly. King's concern at the quarrels between the Lisbon populace and British sailors and especially at the imprisonment of Capt. Only, R.N. of H.M.S. Lively and his coxswain. Portuguese Secretary in London has presented a memorial on the subject, of which he sends a copy together with the Admiralty's orders on the subject (wanting). Hopes the King of Portugal will take a more balanced attitude, as King George II is doing. King also concerned at Portuguese complaint over one of Tyrawly's servants having dangerously wounded someone, and Tyrawly is to send an account of this affair, and to avoid such incidents in future.
