Folio 39: Duke of Newcastle to Lord Tyrawly. Acknowledges his letter of Sept. 12/13 which the King has seen, but as the King has received no complaints from his subjects trading in or to Portugal, he `does not think it for their service, to be stirring points, with which they seem easy at present,' especially as the balance of trade is so much in Great Britain's favour. Approves of his giving letters of notification to the Secretary of State, as the King `does not believe there was any slight intended, in your not having an opportunity' to do it to King John V in person.
Date and place: 1730 Oct 12 Windsor.
