Folio 258: Thomas Burnett to Duke of Newcastle. Return of the Portuguese warship Victoria from the Cape Verde Islands bringing the Governor of St. Antonio as a prisoner for having allowed 50 blacks to be sold as slaves to the Barbadoes. But he is likely to be acquitted as he was told they were being sent to the Azores. New governors for Mazagâo and Madeira. Contracts for the double royal marriages finally signed and the ratifications are now being exchanged. Court of Spain backing down from their former hard stand over the Preliminary Articles for a General Pacification.
