Folio 215: Thomas Burnett to Duke of Newcastle. Spanish squadron from La Coruña in port but commanding officers coldly received by King and Queen. Infante Dom Francisco says publicly that the Spanish warships `look extremely like the English colliers from Newcastle.' News from Rome indicating a hitch in the negotiations over a Cardinal's hat for Bichi and the reopening of the Lisbon nunciature. King of Spain's ill-health, but Queen safely delivered of a son. Encloses copy of his letter to Dormer on the problem of the Lake (f.218).
