Folio 202: James Dormer to Duke of Newcastle. Has transmitted to the Court the news of King George I's death and accession of King George II. Effusive protestations of his loyalty and devotion. Encloses copies of correspondence from Van der Meer, Dutch ambassador at Madrid (ff.208, 210). Royal marriages still under negotiation as Spaniards making difficulties. Spanish naval movements and Portuguese attitudes. Gunpowder for and from Gibraltar. Encloses loyal address from British Consul and Factory (f.205).
