Folio 35: Thomas Burnett to Duke of Newcastle. More details on the reported secret agreement with the Papacy concerning a Cardinal's cap for Bichi, despite the violent opposition of the majority of the Sacred College thereto, and the conditions under which papal nunciature at Lisbon may be reopened. Marquis of Abrantes states he will leave tomorrow for Madrid, but Burnett is still sceptical.
