Folio 24: James Dormer to Duke of Newcastle. His interview with Secretary of State and his stress on Anglo-French amity, but Secretary very evasive and reserved on this point, Portuguese Court very nervous of doing anything to annoy Spain. Reminder about appointing commissioners to settle Anglo-Portuguese disputes over Bombay and Cabinda. Two Portuguese warships leaving for Brazil and perhaps W. Africa to take reprisals against the Dutch. Reports of Spanish privateers preparing. Arrival of Pernambuco Fleet and departure of British warships.
