Folio 180: James Dormer to Duke of Newcastle. On reflection is inclined to discount the warnings of the Infante Dom Francisco as `in a great measure the effect of a too violent temper.' Marquis of Abrantes may be anti-British, but the Secretary of State is not, andthe latter has more influence. King John V unlikely to do anything to displease King George I. Bitter complaints of the `exceedingly indecent carriage' of Consul Burnett to him. Requests he should be told to behave himself and be more respectful and cooperative.
