Folio 147: Thomas Burnett to Duke of Newcastle. Dispute with Rome over the Loreto Church may soon be settled by a compromise, but not the other matters in dispute. King John V's drastic reaction to a quarrel between 30 of the Portuguese nobility and two patriarchalcanons with a civil magistrate. The nobility and canons involved have all been banished from the Court, and the magistrate disgraced for not standing up to them. Preparations for the Bahia and Rio Fleets.
