Factory's desire to have its income increased by subjecting all goods imported at Lisbon from any foreign parts in English bottoms to the payment of the same contribution as all English goods in English ships pay. Encloses copy of Burnett's letter on this proposal (f.63). Indecisive engagement between Dutch and Algerines. Pernambuco Fleet and two large ships for Goa due to leave soon. Arrival of a French ship of the Mississippi Company, which Spaniards would not allow to trade on the Pacific coast.
