Folio 165: Thomas Burnett to Duke of Newcastle. Franco-Portuguese dispute over protocol still deadlocked, though Spanish ambassador may be trying to mediate. Abbé de Livry expects to be recalled. King of Portugal, still unwell, has gone to Pedroucas for the Christmas holidays. Rio de Janeiro Fleet expected early in January. British naval movements.
