Folio 119: Thomas Saunderson to Duke of Newcastle. Reporting his arrival and conversation with the Secretary of State concerning Madame da Cunha. Dispute over protocol between the Secretary of State and the newly arrived French ambassador, probably originated with King of Portugal's desire to establish that ambassadors must pay the first visit to the Secretary of State as they do in all other Courts. Conde de Pinos talks of leaving but is unlikely to do so. News from Cadiz. Departure of three Maltese warships.
