Folio 247: Thomas Burnett to Lord Carteret. Two Portuguese warships have left reputedly for Nova Colonia. A mysterious man from London, now in Lisbon, is reputedly an ex-East India Co. employee with proposals for erecting a Portuguese East India Co. News of hostilities in India between British at Bombay and Portuguese at Baçaim, followed by a truce pending settlement of the dispute in Europe.
