Description

Folio 231: Thomas Lumley to Lord Carteret. A more detailed account of the embargo laid on shipping on account of the absconding Canon who has escaped with his paramour. Reports of insurrection in Minas Gerais persist, and King is inclined to take a stronger line than his advisers. Jesuits and Spaniards reportedly stirring up trouble at Nova Colonia.
