Folio 106: Thomas Lumley to Lord Carteret. Thinks that Carteret's intervention with Galvão over the Whinnyats' case (f.59) will have the desired effect and the matter will now be dropped. Thinks that Mr. Johnson (f.97) will be given leave to reside in Brazil,but case of Protestant worship in Oporto is more difficult as the Patriarch and Cardinal da Cunha are concerned in it. English sailor Thomas (f.97) will probably be released, but not the others who are evidently guilty. Futile cruises of Dutch and Maltese against Algerines.
