Folio 83: Thomas Burnett to Lord Carteret. Sends translation of the foreign merchants' representation to King of Portugal against the alvar of 9 Aug. (f.55) and other relevant documentation (ff.87, 93-95). His comments on the subsequent modifications of the alvar.Intelligence concerning the suspicious ship Revolution. The three Maltese warships have left Lisbon, and are cruising off the coast. News from Rome. Cardinal da Cunha most cordially received on his return from Rome, and Marquis of Abrantes' influence much weakened. Naval news.
