Folio 67: Thomas Burnett to Lord Carteret. Reassuring news from Cadiz. New Portuguese law against smuggling (f.55) has already been modified in some respects as a result of the foreign merchants' protests against it, and Secretary of State has given assurances that it will be `so softened, as to be no prejudice to our commerce.'.
