Folio 61: `Mr Whinnyat's case'. As sole executor of the will of his late brother-in-law, John Compton and guardian of the latter's natural child by his maid, Florence Angovi, who claims the child (brought up in England as a Protestant) and the whole estate of Compton under Portuguese law, whose claim Whinnyat disputes as invalid under English law and treaty privileges of English merchants in Portugal.
