New and severe law (f.55) promulgated by King of Portugal against the defrauding of his customs through contraband gold and goods. Arrival of three envoys from São Lourenço [i.e. Madagascar], asking for Portuguese help against pirates and offering commercial concessions and facilities for Jesuit missionaries.
