Arrest of Ferdinand Wingfield and Co., examination of their books and effects, for smuggling out gold and silver. Argues 400-year old legal prohibition never hitherto enforced, and export of bullion unavoidable and anyway permitted under article 10 of 1654 treaty. Matter is being handled by Worsley.
