Folio 27: Henry Worsley to James Craggs. Complains bitterly that he has been wantonly traduced by Mr. Henry Furness and others over the affair of the contraband gold seized on board the Cooper Galley in 1718 and forwards copies of relevant correspondence (ff.31-33). Will continue to try to get exemption from Customs duties for British naval stores, as also that Count Tarouca should be appointed Portuguese envoy to London (ff.35-39). Spanish naval preparations. Portuguese and Spanish dispute over payment of indemnity and the Buenos Aires ships now revived.
