Folio 179: Henry Worsley to James Craggs. Will continue to press that Count Tarouca may be appointed Portuguese ambassador to London, but is doubtful of succeeding as King John V is rather annoyed with him. Portuguese still stalling over adherence to the Quadruple Alliance while stressing their loyalty to Anglo-Portuguese Alliance. Has withdrawn his protection from Col. Joseph Marti (f.163). Lisbon and Oporto Factory's request for British naval protection of their seaborne trade.
