Folio 242: Henry Worsley to James Stanhope. Petition of Bristol merchants over the loss of the Carter Galley lost in bad weather when forced out of Recife by the Governor's order. He will ask for satisfaction but unlikely to get any until further information available from Pernambuco. Toby Bourk (f.238) has arrived but not yet done anything much. Departure of Padre Cienfuegos with pictures for the Emperor of Germany, despite Portuguese efforts to impound them as not yet paid for. Increase in pro-French feeling at Court and why. King has returned from Azeitão in good health.
