Folio 214: Lord Portmore to Lord Dartmouth. Feels sure that the Portuguese have a secret understanding with the enemy, as shown by the recent operations on the frontier which he narrates at length. Problem of bread and desertions. Cannot do anything about Gibraltar. Encloses lists of the effectives in the field and also of the non-effectives, as they were at the opening of the campaign (ff.49, 51).
