Folio 257: Lord Portmore to Lord Dartmouth. Encloses copy of Secretary of State's letter (f.255). Supports Portuguese request for augmentation of troops and subsidies, for a naval demonstration against Andalusia, and contracts for the supply of corn and barley. News of the operations of King Charles and the Duke of Anjou in Spain. Recommends Major-General Carle for a command as requested by the Portuguese (see ff.165, 195).
