Folio 103: Lord Galway to Lord Dartmouth. Will arrange for the subsistence of deserters. Hears that he has been replaced as commander-in-chief of British troops in Portugal by Lord Portmore, and asks to be recalled as soon as possible from both his military and diplomatic functions. Major-General Newton can take charge of former and Mr Leffever of latter, pending the arrival of his successor.
