Description

Folio 139: John Methuen to Sir Charles Hedges. Arrival of the Rio de Janeiro Fleet in safety. News of the relief of Barcelona and French retreat. Portuguese now ashamed of their inaction and Court talks of advancing on Madrid at once, but he remains very sceptical.
