Description

Folio 252: John Methuen to Sir Charles Hedges. If Queen Anne excuses Capt. Hooper R.N. (ff.223, 227), he must do so, and he will never interfere with naval officers again. Is glad a strong line is being taken with the Portuguese Envoy in London. Gunpowder for the King of Portugal. Spanish regiment paid by Methuen now serving under Galway in Alentejo. Glad for Queen's favour to Capt. Joseph Bennett R.E. who has now been wounded at siege of Albuquerque. Latest news of operations on the frontier.
