Description

Folio 179: John Methuen to Sir Charles Hedges. Virtual postscript to f.177. King of Portugal extremely depressed and dejected at the failure of the abortive allied campaign despite the presence of himself and Charles III. Problem of the high command and the Dutch General Fagel's refusal to serve under Galway.
