Folio 113: John Methuen to the Earl of Nottingham. Passage of a strong French fleet down the coast of Portugal to the intense annoyance of the Portuguese King and Court who felt abandoned entirely by the Allies. Complains that he has no authority over the movementsof naval vessels. News of the campaign on the frontiers. Renews his request to be recalled. (f.107).
