Folio 82: [Paul Methuen] to [Richard Warre]. Arrival of the Prince of Hesse and later of a few ships with troops, but general regret that main body of the fleet had been driven back by storms to Portsmouth. Pedro II greatly afflicted by the death of his dearly-loved eight-year old daughter. Money sent from Segovia to Seville, where the Spanish merchants refuse to give up the money and goods they hold in trust for English and Dutch merchants. One silver ship from Buenos Ayres arrived at Cadiz, but the other thought detained by the Portuguese in Brazil. Reports on French and Spanish military movements.
