Folio 81: John Methuen to Sir Charles Hedges. Despite the arrival of the allied fleet being delayed by bad weather, hopes it will arrive in time for the Portuguese to start operations `in some tolerable time of the year'. Is very glad that the commercial treaty hemade with Portugal [= the famous `Methuen Treaty of 27 Dec. 1703] has been well received in England, and hopes the ratification will arrive soon.
