Folio 141: Consul Maynard to Sir Leoline Jenkins. Incident in front of the royal palace when some drunken English sailors were abused by two Portuguese who were flogged by order of the Prince-Regent, who told Maynard to try to stop English sailors getting drunk andcreating incidents, but that when the Portuguese were the aggressors he would punish them.
